From 2003 - 2009, David worked as a cloth & hair technical director at Sony Pictures Imageworks. The Cloth & Hair team was tasked with the creation, rigging, and motion for all hair, fur, and cloth garments featured in all their feature films. David’s first major movie was The Polar Express and his first assignment was Tom Hank's mustache. He had an amazing time working with the best CFX team in the industry on so many incredible films.
DISNEY FEATURE ANIMATION
From 2009 - 2015, David worked at Disney Feature Animation and transitioned to the look development team. The team was responsible for the textures and materials that make the elements in the films "look" the way they do – the skin, cloth, wood, stone, etc. David then created the motion. He worked with the simulation team on Tangled on Rapunzel's hair movement. He created many hairstyles and materials that were used on characters and environments. He had the incredible opportunity to work alongside the best artists in the industry on numerous amazing animated films.
